A SIMPLIFIED METHOD FOR DEMONSTRATION OF CALCIUM IN SPODOGRAMS

H. G. GODLEWSKI 1

1 Institute of Oncology, Department of Tumour Biology, Armii Czerw. 15, Gliwice, Poland

A simple atomiser is used in order to spray the sulphuric acid over the spodogram. The formed crystals of gypsum prove the presence of calcium in particular tissue structures. The procedure avoids the use of micromanipulator applied in the original method. Gypsum crystals have been demonstrated in the wall of the hamster cheek pouch, the developing tooth of new-born hamster and in the sclerotic human aorta.
